I simply do what inspires me in everyday life. In my sculptures, I emphasize what makes that person who they are through a whimsical glimpse into the moment.
This could be an expression on a person's face, an interaction between two people, or a moment of loneliness and vulnerbility with the elderly or youth. I want to bring into focus the essence of the moment because this is often overlooked in every day occurrences.
I see music and movement in people and sometimes emphasize this in my figures using directional line and texture. If my work brings a familiar sense of warmth, connection, a tear or smile to the observer, my soul is fed.
