For me, art is not some metaphysical connection with a spirit world which only the talented and special can tap into for guidance and expression. It is more a translation – input, process, output – which constantly occurs within all of us. We all have our outlet, our medium of expression, which are glimpses of how we see, feel, hear, smell and taste our world.
My outlets are jewelry, pastels, watercolor, sculpture, printmaking, oil painting, color pencil and mixed media. I try to exhibit as much as possible, trying to make a connection with those who view it. My hope is my art will show someone a slice or view of something they hadn’t thought of before and they make the connection from my translation to their understanding.
