Kathy Ikerd’s paintings range from abstract expressionism emphasizing color, to poetic impressionism. Her recent works are completed primarily in oil painted en plein aire. Along with landscapes, she enjoys life drawing and figurative painting.
Her solo shows include Jonathan’s at Peiranos, Fox Fine Jewelry, Buenaventura Gallery, and Benton, Orr, Duval and Buckingham. She has participated in Ventura’s ArtWalks, The Brewery Artwalk, L.A., and Studio Art Detour, Ojai. Selected group shows include Bleischer/Golightly Gallery, Santa Monica, Julie Rico Gallery, L.A., and “Painted Violins,” Ventura Music Festival.
Kathy’s work, “Moonlight Duet” was selected and featured on the cover of Buenaventura’s Gallery first calendar. Her awards include entries in the SCIART Plein Air Competition, Ventura County Fair, Santa Paula Art and Photography, Ojai Center for the Arts, Barney Dietz Purchase Award, and awards of excellence and merits in drawing and painting from Ventura College.
