Karen L. Brown

karen l. brown is a painter, encaustic printmaker, and former college professor specializing in teaching Life Long Learning for adults, emphasizing quality leisure functioning. Karen has a PhD from Texas Women's University. She works in her studio two to three days a week and continues to devote time and paintings to raise scholarship money for local art students. She participates in local, state and national competitions; has had six solo shows and created nine series of paintings since her return to art in 1995. Her collectors extend over the atlantic and pacific.
Karen began her artistic endeavors with watercolors, finding alternative ways of working, "heightens my senses and brings a renewed enthusiasm to my work". Karen is currently working with encaustics (wax), digital fine art and mixed media. Her studio is open by appointment only.
