Carson Pritchard received a degree in graphic design in 1978 from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. Carson founded Carson Pritchard Design in 1981 specializing in graphic and package design. She received numerous awards and recognition for her work in design; a career spanning 20 years. In addition to her business pursuits, she taught package design at Art Center for 15 years and most recently taught at The Academy of Art in San Francisco.
Carson’s approach to her art comes in a simple package; pure attraction to form and color. Through a lifetime of great highs and lows, art has remained the center of her passion. Impulsive movements emanate through her pieces and can be seen in the evolution of her craft. One might speculate that the inherent intelligence of nature’s spontaneity seems to be alive in Carson’s approach. When asked what draws her towards art, her eyes flash with childlike inspiration. She says, “It’s what I’m attracted to… at that moment.” This could explain why her career has encompassed many realms of graphic design and fine art.
