Dennis Wood is an artist living and working in Ojai, California, where his work is on display in his studio “Art Among the Oaks.”

While raising his family in the San Fernando Valley, Dennis was a project manager for a major telecommunications company.  During this time, he continued to study art and sketched and painted with watercolors and acrylics.  In college, he majored in art with an emphasis on acrylic techniques.  Currently, besides his own work, Dennis uses his knowledge of various techniques to teach others. 

Dennis’ focus is on nature, life images and different cityscapes.  His eye for composition, use of light and color, and attraction to shape and design enable him to create beautiful complex images of common subjects.  Dennis uses the tranquil nature scenes and the colorful city life from his travels as his inspiration for the canvas. 

His works have been shown in one-person and group exhibitions at several locations in the Ojai Valley, Ventura and Carpinteria. 

Since 2008, Dennis has organized the very popular Ojai Art Detour that tours various artist studios and locations in the Ojai Valley.  He feels it is important for the known and lesser-known artists to have the opportunity to showcase their artistic talents.  Currently, he is supporting the Ojai Valley Chamber of Commerce develop their 2012 Gala Event “Celebrating Art and Business”.  The Ojai Valley Inn will host this event in February 2012.
