David Blackburn, this years’ “Best of Show” winner at the Ventura County Fair donated two handcrafted wood benches to the Buenaventura Gallery in downtown Ventura.  Blackburn used a combination of cherry with curley soft maple rails to craft benches that are both practical and luxurious.

Former Buenaventura Art Association president, Stephen Schafer, asked Blackburn to make the benches so that patrons could have a place to sit and quietly reflect on the art throughout the gallery.

Marketing Director Christine Beirne said, “Our biggest problem is letting people know that they can sit on the benches.  They are so beautiful, that people assume they are part of the show!”
